Writing for Niche Markets

Write For Us

YGuide is looking for good people who are actively engaged in any productive business that would fall under the eight categories on the left and who would love to write about what they do. We specifically want to develop two types of e-books. Those two types are "how-to" e-books, and "how to make money with" e-books.

An example of a "how-to" e-book could be How to Raise Bees and Make Money as Well. Although most of the e-book would focus on raising bees, it will include a chapter that gives solid, useful, and easily applied advice on making money with bees. Writing this kind of e-book would require personal hands on experience as well as the ability to connect with and glean from others experienced in the field.

An example of a "how to make money with" e-book could be Make Money from Medicinal Herbs. Much of this e-book would be adaptable into a variety of solid business plans. However, we will not be re-hashing standard business practices, but giving solid, useful, and easily applied advice, tricks of the trade, insider secrets, and so on. Writing this kind of e-book would require personal experience in making money in that field as well as the ability to connect with and glean from others who are making money in that field.

Here are the points on which YGuide would work out an agreement with a prospective writer. (Any formal agreement will be a written legal contract).

  • The writer will do most of the research and writing, following a format provided by YGuide.
  • However, YGuide will co-write the e-book with the writer's name listed first and the YGuide co-writer's name listed second.
  • The writer will be allowed to include an agreed upon number of links to his or her own sites and interests, so long as they are appropriate.
  • Most affiliate links in the e-book will belong entirely to YGuide.
  • All research costs will be borne by the writer.
  • All other costs, including proofreading, advertising, and distribution, will be borne by YGuide.
  • YGuide will own the copyright of the e-book and will be free to make use of the material in the e-book in other formats.
  • The writer will retain full royalty rights as spelled out in the agreement to all sales of the e-book or including any future adaptations of all or any part (i.e. included in a course, published as a printed book, future updates, portions included in other, larger works, etc.).
  • The writer will split the author royalty 50-50 with the co-writer. That royalty will be determined in this way. Sale amount minus the cost of sales (usually not more than 10%) will be split 50-50 between the authors and the affiliate seller. If there is no affiliate seller, than app. 90 of the sale will be in the author royalty with the writer receiving 50% of that.
  • For example. Let's say we priced the e-book at $27 and sold it through Clickbank. Let's say a Clickbank affiliate sold it for us. Clickbank takes just under $3.00, leaving $24. The affiliate gets half, leaving $12. The writer gets half of that, or $6.
  • On the other hand, let's say we priced the e-book at $78, with the cost of sales at $8 and directly from YGuide's marketing with no affiliate. That means the writer's 50% would be $35.
  • Let's say the writer's royalty averaged $15 per sale and together we made an average of 40 sales a month over the next several years. That would be an income of $600 a month. Of course, we can make no promises as to any income.
  • Besides the royalty, the writer would receive targeted exposure to his or her own website and products.
  • The writer may also receive income from two or three valid affiliate links supplied by him or herself and included in the e-book.

The advantages to a prospective writer are these.

  • We provide you with a sound, recognized, and brandable format for your e-book. You will know what to include and what to research.
  • We provide experienced and professional co-writers that polish your work and make it highly useful and therefore salable.
  • We worry about all the marketing, selling requirements, and delivery of your e-book.
  • You get to focus on putting down your expertise and experience into a form useful to other people.
  • You have the advantage of YGuide's increasing share of the market.
  • You get to sit back and receive royalty checks, once your part is done.

If you have any questions, please contact us. We will get back with you as quickly as possible.
